Meet Michael Zion '04
Michael Zion graduated in 2004 with a degree in Consumer Affairs and is now an accomplished business co-founder and executive for his business – CPG Logic LLC. He resides in Ohio with his wife, two daughters, and is a proud President of the Alumni Mentoring Group.
With a large network of clientele for his company, including Ole Mexican Foods, Farmer Focus, Impossible Foods and more; Michael’s company works to aid consumer package goods manufacturers with the data they are already purchasing. This allows his company to provide consulting services for his clients, which assists them with their analytics and understanding of the marketplace.
As President of the Alumni Mentoring Group, Michael provides current OSU Sigma Phi Epsilon students advice to better navigate their collegiate careers and extracurricular activities. Michael is also Vice President of the Alumni Volunteer Council, stating that remaining active and involved as an alumnus is an important way of paying it forward to future generations of Sigma Phi Epsilon brothers.
Michael gives credit to his time in Sigma Phi Epsilon for teaching him some of his most important lessons in life; one of these important lessons being accountability. He also stressed that being accountable to himself and business partners has been an integral part of his success. This also plays into another lesson taught to Michael by SigEp, which is the importance of taking responsibility for your actions and those around you so that you can be the best versions of yourselves.
Regarding advice for undergraduate students, Michael states this: “slow down and enjoy the journey. College is a super important time in your life, and it lays the groundwork; but it is such a small part of your life. Don’t get hung up on everything that happens day to day. There’s a lot of life left after college.”
